The good news just keeps on rolling in at Bestival HQ for our Year of the Fantastic! With a line-up that already resembles the stuff that dreams are made of we have got some astounding new line up additions to make, including announcing our amazing Sunday night headliner who will join the likes of Dizzee Rascal, Hot Chip, Roxy Music, Flaming Lips, Gil Scott Heron, Richie Hawtin presents Plastikman and LCD Soundsystem at Robin Hill Country Park from September 9th to 12th.

A gleaming and beaming Rob da Bank said: “So, we can finally unveil our Sunday night headliner as Braintree's finest, The Prodigy! Since raving as a young pup to Charly and Out of Space through to caning their new record on my radio show, The Prodigy have been a massive part of my record collection. As far as polishing off the party on Sunday night I can’t think of a more explosive finale ... and it's gonna be the last we'll see of them for quite a while on our shores so get in the queue now!”

We are very pleased indeed to welcome The Prodigy to Bestival as our Sunday night headliner for what will be their last show on these shores for some time.  And as it’s their last live show for some time, you can be sure that Liam, Maxim and Keith will pull out all the stops to deliver an incendiary experience. One of the best live acts of all time, Bestival will be bouncing to The Prodigy on Sunday night in celebration of a double finale!

From rave godfathers to reggae legends, Bestival has it all with the addition roots-rock pioneers and the nattiest dreads around, The Wailers.  The backing band for one of the most famous men to have ever lived, Bob Marley, The Wailers are celebrating their 40th anniversary as the world’s most recognisable reggae band in 2010, so we’re super-excited that they’ll be joining us on the Isle of Wight. Centred around bass colossus Aston ‘Familyman’ Barrett, who was Marley’s musical director, the band continue to play all the classics that are known and loved across the globe.

Wild Beasts, whose jaw-dropping countertenor powered ethereal indie-pop has brought them high praise are set to make the journey across the Solent, as is incomparable synth-pop hero Howard Jones, who, after a relentless four years of campaigning by the besti-faithful on the Bestival Forum, will be sure to attract a fervently festive crowd of devotees to say the least! The mighty speaker & tweeter smashing Dub Pistols, the liltingly lovely I Blame Coco, heavyweight groovers Gentlemen’s Dub Club, big band hip-hoppers The Correspondents, teen queen Charli XCX, countrified chanteuse Lissie, energetic four-piece Our Fold, the Isle of Wight’s own Holly Kirby and The Kurves and Welsh-funkateers Derwyddon Dr Gonzo are all also set to appear.

Plus we can announce even more DJs stepping up to the platters that matter including a super-rare DJ set from La Roux and Dead Guy, plus we have very special guest and new music champion Zane Lowe playing the incredible, expanded Afterburner stage, techno-belle Magda, banging beat-meisters Audio Bullys who will also be rocking the Afterburner, Worldwide don Gilles Peterson, Clash collaborator and all-round legend Don Letts who we are very pleased to say will be playing a set per day, electro-architect Arthur Baker and, fresh from retooling Roxy Music’s ‘Angel Eyes’ especially for us, Serge Santiago. Plus there will be a very welcome appearance from Halifax Hospital Radio’s greatest son, the one and only Barry Peters, AKA The Cuban Brothers’ Miguel Mantovani who will be busy compering the mainstage throughout the weekend in his many madcap guises.

With more music, merriment, mayhem and tons of tea and cake on the horizon there’s still plenty of goodies to announce before September rolls around and the party starts, so keep on checking our ace new website http://www.bestival.net
